Product of the year canada: The Ultimate Seal of Approval for Canadian Consumers

TORONTO, April 1, 2026  — In a world where there are too many choices and not enough time, one red seal has spent nearly 40 years helping Canadians feel confident about what they put in their shopping carts. Product of the Year Canada, the largest consumer-voted award for product innovation, officially announced that entries are now open for the 2027 Product of the Year Awards

Real people, real votes

What makes this award different isn’t a panel of industry insiders; it’s the voices of 4,000 everyday Canadians. In partnership with Kantar, a global leader in consumer research, Product of the Year finds out what people actually love using in their daily lives. This independent study ensures that the “Voted Product of the Year” seal remains the most reliable benchmark for innovation in the country.

It ensures that when a busy parent or a savvy consumer is glancing at a shelf or scrolling on their phone, the winner stands out instantly as a product they can trust.

How to Become a Product of the Year Canada Winner

Brands across food & beverage, personal care, household, pet care, and beyond are invited to submit their latest innovations. Any products launched after January 1, 2025, are eligible to be put to the test by the Canadian public.

Winning products earn a two-year license to the iconic 2027 Red Seal—a proven driver of brand awareness and retail distribution. Beyond the logo, winners are featured in a nationwide B2B and B2C marketing campaign, with the official reveal taking place at our awards ceremony in February 2027.

For 38 years, marketers around the world have trusted Product of the Year to amplify their marketing strategy and accelerate growth.
